410 Tactical Fighter Operational Training Squadron, Nicknamed the "Cougars"
410 Tactical Fighter (Operational Training) Squadron, usually trains between 20 and 22 pilots a year on the CF-18, more than any other RCAF squadron.

417 Combat Support Squadron is based at CFB Cold Lake it provides helicopter support and search and rescue operations to the base and area since 1994.  

Squadron operators the
CH-146 Griffon helicopter from the base.  During operations the helicopter fly's with two pilots and two Search and Rescue Technicians ( or SAR Techs)
